Ahhh god, is that not the truth! Saw a few of those about 1 am in Twickenham last night! (trying to get a cab) Your illos have a strange movement quality to them -makes me wonder which part you draw (or think of)first...
First I thought about the color blue and what this color means for me. I think blue is like the twillight between day and night. Blue hour, the world around us inking in a magical blue, magical twillight. Blue is also for me like the Bluenote in the Jazz Music - the flat note which incarnated diremption and desire. Ups and downs and improvisation - an immense energy source. So first I draw the "Blue" sketching and playing with all the wonderful nuances of "Blue" and than I feel the blues :) and made the "Bar People". Hope you can understand my very special german - english.
This is stunningly realistic and stylistic at the same time. Being a recovering alcoholic I know...cuz I HAVE seen this person at a bar....actually I think it was me! Anyhoo, Uta u know I'm in awe of your art!

Wow. Your style is fantastic. Bizarre yet so tight design-wise. You have a unique vision.
